The survey ranks Las Cruces, New Mexico as number eight on the list of 20 U.S. mid-size cities in metropolitian statistical areas with populations between 150,000 and 500,000 residents. Last year Las Cruces was ranked number one in the same category.
The survey considers factors such as crime statistics, extreme weather, risk of natural disasters, environmental hazards, terrorism threat, air quality, life expectancy and job loss numbers.
